Introduction

Environmental science is essential for addressing the complex issues of climate change, biodiversity decline, pollution, and the pursuit of sustainable development. With increasing demand for water, populations in areas of water stress must strive to sustainably navigate areas of freshwater scarcity. This dissertation will examine new water management strategies, particularly rainwater harvesting, desalination and recycling, to assist with fresh water supply in arid regions.
